Time for another edition of Travel Diaries!
This was my first time on a cable car and I was super excited!
Starting point: Keppel Bay Tower
The cable car journey started from the central station on the cable connecting Mount Faber to Sentosa Island.
We decided to go toward the scenic beauty of mount faber first. Mount Faber is a hill top attraction where people often come admire the Singapore city scape. It’s quite unique because hiking through Mount Faber offers a unique experience- while walking through the natural ambience you get great views of the city:
Mount Faber also has lots of popular attractions- hiking trails, view points and unique destinations. I was fortunate to experience some of these, before we got back on the cable car. First we stopped by the Bell Bridge where thousands of passersby’s leave bells edified with their hopes and wishes hanging on the balcony:
It’s really inspiring to be among so many aspirations and hopes! The majestic view of Singapore that lies ahead of the balcony added to the charm of the Bell Bridge. It felt as though the wishes scribed on the bells were not just individiual desires but as a whole they were wishes of the city- wishes of Singapore!
There was a lovely little Happiness Garden outside the bell bridge. The stairwell was colored with bright paint to add to the theme as well!
We walked ahead to Henderson Waves next! Henderson Waves is a lovely bridge across two sides on Mount Faber. The architecture and build of the bridge is unique and very wave-like as the name suggests 😛
After our brief hike through Mount Faber, we went back up to the cable car station and headed right to sentosa island. The ride to Sentosa was simply spectacular- this time we didn’t just pass over the city but the sea as well. We saw several cruise ships ready to set sail and the sea glittering in the sunlight!
The view of Sentosa from high above really showed me the beauty of the island. I’ve been to Sentosa several times, but this was different- seeing the panoramic view of the several beaches, amusements and icons over Sentosa allowed me to appreciate the design of the fun-filled island.
