On the way to Chikmagalur (see the first post about the road trip here), we had to go across a little town that specializes in making wooden toys and clay models. It’s a delightful little place called Channapatna. Unfortunately, we couldn’t explore the town, but I managed to click some pictures of the shops on the side of the road.
These little Ganesh doll figurines are just precious! Every single piece is crafted by hand, and this type of clay making and painting also contributes largely to Channapatna’s economy.
The wooden rocking chairs come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. I really like how they were painted in bright colours-perfect for any child’s playroom.
Seems to be a friendly place to cross! Even the billboards greet you as you whiz by.
