Hey everyone! If you follow me on instagram @surelysimpleblog, you might know- I love making cards! I think there’s something extra special about a handmade card. A unique touch that no expensive store bought card can match. I think it’s about the time, effort and sheer love that goes into it. It doesn’t matter if the handmade card took 2 days to make or just 2 minutes to write down a message and doodle something sweet and endearing- it’s the action that counts. One thing I also like about handmade cards is that you can decide what occasion it’s for. As opposed to buying a ‘happy birthday’ etc message in a store, you can deliberately make your stash of handmade cards open ended and use them for multiple occasions. Which is what I’ve done here. Maybe you’ve seen this page from my notebook on IG-
I just made these for fun- to explore layouts and formats. It took me just 15 minutes to draw ’em out with a Fudenosuke pen (click on it to see), and then I thought- why not make these into cards for y’all? I love a good freebie and I hope you like them too! The best part is, you can print them out anytime for any occasion that comes under these categories:
1- a thank you for a friend
2- season’s greetings
4- greetings from one family to another
You’ll find a download button at the end of the page. Just press it and save the PDF. You can print these out and fold them in half- voila!
I was just cracking open my Christmas ornaments from storage so I thought I’d add them in the photos- these cards can be used for any occasion throughout the year! Makes sense to use them for the upcoming holidays specially though 🙂
(A friendly card here! I absolutely recommend giving frequent handmade cards to the genuine friends in your life! Real friends are hard to come by..)
This family card layout is actually something I made just to fill in the last portion of space on my notebook page, but I ended up liking it a lot! It’s inspired from this abacus inspired doodle I made earlier on IG-
I've been getting a bit bored with the ribbon 🎀 banners I usually make- and for this new design- the inspiration came from the abacus ! Of course, had to add so many floralelements to it- what did you expect haha 😊do you want to see more of these sort of designs? PS- does this look like a wreath as well? Haha NEW: please click link in bio if you want to see a real time video on how to draw leaves 10 ways on YouTube! 💖#bannerpic (repost because I had to add a watermark)
This ‘happiest holidays to you buddy’ was actually a total experiment again, constrained by the space limitations on my page- hence the layout happened to just accommodate the words! I was probably intending to write ‘happy holidays’ but the y on the happy would’ve been hidden by the banner (of course- I drew the banner first) and so I changed it to ‘happiest’ 🙂
Season’s greetings! I kept this simple.
So tell me- which one is your FAVOURITE? Anyhow, you can download all of them and print them out!
Here’s the PDF link, click on it and you’re good to go! If you print them out and post them on your social media, please tag me on IG @surelysimpleblog and use the hashtag #mysurelysimple so I see it and probably share it too! Happy happy holidays to you! 🙂
