DIY Orange Rind Lights

DIY Orange Rind LightsI made this while on holiday and managed to take a few quick snaps. These DIY orange rind lights are a really easy DIY, and pretty fun to make too. Plus, you get the opportunity to eat some oranges. DIY Orange Rind Lights

DIY Orange Rind LightsSteps:

1/ Cut the orange in half, and take out all the orange wedges. Eat those 🙂

2/You’re left with two halves; shape the edges and carve out a small circle opening in the top of one of them.

3/ If you have a small candle, then automatically place it inside by securing with a bit of wax (Light the candle first, drip some wax inside the orange and then put the candle on it). My candles were really big so I chopped off a bit at the ends to get a small candle to fit inside the orange.

4/ Enjoy the flickering lights (especially if you have carved the lower half of the orange rind) and bask in the orangey glow.

Extras:

I didn’t try this, but I’ve heard that if you add oil inside and some fragrant essence, it all infuses while burning, to create a lovely aroma in the whole room. Sounds pretty nice!
