Best of July

Farm Trip pt. 2 via

Hello everyone! Let’s talk a bit about July. I’m starting to post more now, and that’s a good thing. And yes, there’s been quite a bit going around here at SS in July. I’m adding a bit of August too here, since we’re already a week in 🙂

Best of July

Tequila, Mexico

Farm Trip pt. 2 via

Travel- I put some pictures of an old trip to Tequila, Mexico here. Also, I visited a specialized natural farm (here and here), and it was so great! Just picking berries, enjoying nature and the cool breeze under the sunny skies. Perfect. Add a lovely farm cat to the mix, and it’s even better.

Pomegranate Layer Cake with Butter Cream Frosting

Cooking (and eating)- There were these savoury pancakes. And this chocolate cake. And what about this small ice cream cookie pizza party? And I have to add- I made this pomegranate layer cake today and it was absolutely divine!

I made this glittery DIY bunting, and these floral citrus vases as a statement piece for my table. I also restyled some plain planners to these neon ones, and made this geometric jewelry holder from an Ikea packaging. (Gotta love Ikea packing.)

Brush Lettering Tips + Practice| Part 2

Also, Jo of Zuer Designs wrote a 3-part series all about brush lettering, and it is truly a very informative and interesting read. She discussed the basic tools you need to get started, tips and tricks,  along with little videos of her lettering, and if you don’t want to use Photoshop or Illustrator to vectorize your lettering art (or any other art), she’s got you covered with a step by step tutorial on other free programs that can do it!

A big shoutout to her for her amazing input this July (and in the beginning of August). Read part 1, part 2 and part 3 here.

Well, that’s a wrap. July was great, and I have a pretty good feeling that August is going to be even better!

I hope you liked these posts! Thanks for visiting the blog 🙂 Here’s to more crafting, more cooking and more fun!
