When I was in Rajasthan, India, I noticed that there are many temples everywhere. The temples are all beautiful, and all different from each other in many aspects: the architecture, the gods and goddesses they centre upon, the atmosphere within. This particular temple is very close to my heart, because the atmosphere was so peaceful yet so alert-that you feel refreshed and so positive and very in tune with yourself. It was also very beautiful with clean lines and shining white marble.

If you’re ever in Rajasthan, be sure to give this Sati Mata Temple a visit. It will captivate you and make you feel wonderful. It’s an old temple, with a lot of positive energy and it holds the strength of many people’s faith and love. The architecture is also classic and graceful.

This is a multi-instrument music machine! Typical of temples: they have the sound of bells, drums and cymbals along with some Indian sweet musical instruments whose names I don’t know. The head musician probably sits next to it and controls it with a foot rest; however, it’s electrically operated. I think that’s because they have a microphone added to it for festivals and public gatherings.

I’m not sure, but I think the coconuts represent wishes. They must be there for a reason, so I’m guessing they’re probably an offering made by people to get their hopes and dreams fulfilled.Photo Diaries| A temple in White and Gold, in Rajasthan, India. www.surelysimple.com

The vibes of the temple are so welcoming that even sparrows come in without any restraint. There were many of them near the windows and doors, and even on top of the chandeliers.
